Supporting more equitable healthcare in Scarborough

As a proud Canadian company, we are committed to investing in the communities where we live and work to create greater access for Canadians. In support of the Love Scarborough campaign, a combined $5 million donation has been made to Scarborough Health Network (SHN) from Rogers, the Rogers Foundation and Lisa Rogers to help change the future of healthcare in Scarborough.

One of Canada’s most diverse communities, Scarborough is home to 59% new Canadians and 74% visible minorities. It has the lowest average family income in the Greater Toronto Area and has some of the highest rates of chronic kidney disease, with a rising need for life-sustaining dialysis. Through the donation, we are helping to provide more equitable healthcare for generations to come.

The donation will support three initiatives:

  • The Bridletowne Neighbourhood Centre, an innovative hub for chronic kidney disease prevention, education and dialysis
  • An expanded Hemodialysis Unit at Centenary Hospital to keep up with increasing demand
  • Free media through Rogers Sports & Media to raise awareness of the campaign and drive donations

“We are tremendously grateful to Rogers, the Rogers Foundation, and Lisa Rogers for standing up for equitable healthcare in Scarborough. Through the combined $5 million donation, they are directly supporting our diverse and vibrant community and creating real change for those in need of critical dialysis treatment. Their support has also significantly amplified our Love, Scarborough campaign and enabled us to raise our first $100 million – a milestone that we could not have achieved without their dedicated support and the leadership of Edward Rogers as our Honorary Co-Chair.”
